Alghero is one of the most beautiful towns of Sardinia. Its charm comes from its rich historical and cultural past. The town was founded in 1102 by an influential family from Genoa, but the strongest traces of its past were left by the the Catalans-Aragoneses who conquered the little town in 1354 and ruled it for four centuries.
Everything in Alghero is Catalan, the names of the little cobbled streets, the dialect, the architecture of the buildings and of the churches.
The Cathedral of Santa Maria, San Francesco Church and Palazzo de Ferrera: the most beautiful buildings to visit; a mixture of neoclassic and gothic.
Visit of the historical centre accompanied by the guide and free time for shopping. Lunch in local restaurant and return to the hotel in the afternoon.
